    Description

Vintage pair of matching pair of Tokanabe pottery cone shaped wall pockets made in Japan ca. 1920's. They are black with red mums. The black paint is rubbing some but that is typical of this style of pottery. The red and green of the flowers is still bright, as is the gold trim along the top of the wall pockets. One vase has chip on the very bottom towards back (not very visible when vase is hung on wall). Same vase has layer gone from bottom half as if it slid down a wall possibly and landed on the tip (causing the chip) - (speculation). Not visible from the front.  Please see photos to make determination. Still completely functional and displays well. No other chips or flaws noted aside from normal wear due to age. Each vase is marked "Made In Japan" on the back and measures approx 7 inches long by 2 3/4 inches wide at the top by 2 inches deep.  Please see all photos and ask any questions prior to purchase. Thanks for looking.
