Providing you with an armor cage, while maintaining all access to all your camera functions, the Tilta ES-T16 Sony a7s Camera Rig improves your camera's ergonomics and makes it more useable on a video production set. Featuring a precision-machined anodized aluminum cage and rod system built specifically for use with an optional Sony a7s, this unit consists of the camera cage and rod support system with interchangeable lens mount adapter support screw, integrated 15mm rod clamp, and removable top handle. The cage provides over 100 1/4"-20 accessory mounting points so you can mount available accessories without stressing your camera's body.
Incorporating an integrated wood grip for user comfort, as well as a removable top handle that features 3x 1/4"-20 accessory mounting points, a cold shoe, and can be positioned in one of 4 positions for best grip when shooting. The cage also includes a 15mm LWS support rod system, featuring rod clamps, a pair of 11.8" threaded rods, and 3 x 1/4"-20 threaded helicoil-type inserts for attaching the rod support system to an available QR/sliding baseplate, tripod, or other 1/4"-20 mounting equipment.
The cage attaches to the included 15mm LWS support rods via a quick release system that allows you to remove the camera from the rods for a minimum-sized shooting package or quickly remount the camera to the rods when working with rod-mounted accessories. The design of the system ensures that the lens' center height to the rods conforms to industry standards for using rod mounted accessories.
Top handle features an un-powered accessory shoe mount and can be oriented to extend the cold shoe to the front, back, left, or right. It is removable and is relieved to reduce weight and increase strength. The top of the handle features 3x 1/4"-20 threaded accessory mounting points.
The cage itself features 113x 1/4"-20 threaded mounting holes along the body. These mounting holes reduce the weight of the cage, while providing you with a plethora of mounting holes for attaching 1/4"-20 accessories without stressing your camera's body.
The integrated wood handgrip provides a softer-than-metal grip for hand holding your system. The cage incorporates a cold shoe for accessories on top, and camera strap attachments lugs that are held in place by set screws.
Mounted to the front left of the cage is a 15mm rod clamp that allows you to mount an optional 15mm rod for attaching more accessories to your cage, such as an EVF.
Included with the system is a 15mm LWS rod support system that maintains the industry standard lens center to rod distance for compatibility with optional industry standard rod mounted accessories. The rod clamps integrate a Tilta-compatible dovetail, allowing you to slide the baseplate onto optional Tilta-type dovetail plates. The baseplate also has 3x 1/4"-20 helicoil-type inserts for attaching it directly to a tripod or camera plate.
Integrated into the baseplate is a lens adapter support system that includes two different length supports, each with a 1/4"-20 threaded end. The system features a spring-loaded locking lever that allows you to adjust the height of your support to match your lens adapter's needs.
The cage slides onto the baseplate using a NATO rail type attachment. The built-in stop prevents the cage from sliding off the end, and the red lever applies tensions to hold it in place.
Spring-loaded locking levers are used on the system where appropriate, so that you can tighten or loosen the levers even if there isn't enough room to rotate the levers a full 360°.
You can remove the camera strap lugs from your a7s, and mount them on the cage, allowing you to attach camera straps to your rig, so you can hold it just as you would a naked a7s.
