Description
Stunning mid/late 1800s Meissen Yellow Gilt Double Handle Urn VasePresented is a lovely antique Meissen porcelain vase, done in a double handle
urn style. This vase dates to the second half of the 1800s. The vase is a
vibrant yellow color, with white reserves and gilt decoration in classical grape
and foliate motifs in keeping with the urn-like form. The handles are done in an
elegant scrolled swan neck type form, with foliate decoration where they meet
the body. The vase is mounted to its round pedestal base with old bolt
construction exactly as you'd want to see for a piece of this age.
This piece is in great overall condition. There is some wear to the gilding,
please let the photos guide your judgment in this regard. The handles ring well
when tapped, with no cracks or repairs. There are no chips, no cracks, no
breaks, and no repairs.
The vase is signed on the underside with the Meissen crossed swords in
underglaze blue.
The vase stands about 11 1/2 inches tall and measures about 6 1/2 inches
across the handles.
