Series 591 MPC 10¢ Replacement Note 1st Printing #S862-1r – PMG 25 – Scarce Cert
Series 591 Military Payment Certificates were only issued in five countries – Cyprus, Iceland, Japan, Korea and the Philippines – from May 26, 1961 until January 6, 1964. Due to the smaller demand, only about 94 million in face value was issued. They also were the last MPC issue to be printed by Forbes Lithograph Corporation.
This 10 Cent replacement note is from the First Printing and has a serial number of G00473841. Only seven of these replacement notes have ever been graded by PMG, hence the high valuation for this MPC.
Our note has been graded by PMG and determined to be in Very Fine 25 condition, with a notation on back for “Minor Piece Missing”.
