Manfrotto 585 Modosteady - Videocamera Stabilization System

Description

It's called 3-in-1 because: stabilizer, shoulder support, table-top tripod. While that's true, I see it primarily as a stabilizer and I doubt anyone ever bought this to use as a table-top tripod. I bought it for a camera stabilizer. As this device is entirely un-powered and manual, it's not as easy to use as an electronic gimbal (which cost hundreds of dollars).
It is an impressively clever design. It hangs an adjustable counterweight below the camera and you can remove weights to better match your particular camera. Yet it folds to less than 9", so will easily fit in many camera bags.
The modosteady works with lightweight cameras. It's important to know the combined weight of your camera, lens, and any attached accessories. The modosteady instructions says it works with cameras up to 1.65 lbs (combined weight). My camera setup (shown in one of the photos) was slightly too heavy for this stabilizer.
So, I only used it once and the condition is like new.
