    Description

    For sale is
    an interesting plate. A fun bird scene plate with a nice rim design made by Meissen in the 19th century or possibly a bit earlier. The shape and painting style is what I would normally associate only with Dutch porcelain so probably a replacement or special order piece. It is marked with under glaze Meissen crossed swords and their incised numbers as shown. The piece is hand painted with a bird scene in the center, a nice blue and gold design with floral garlands in between on the rim and a nice shape to the porcelain itself. A stunning plate! The piece displays perfectly but two chips have been almost perfectly invisibly restored on the rim. You cannot see it unless you shine a very bright light through it.
