    Description

Heads And Tales – The Royal Canadian Mint 1908-1968 (with full set of MS coins)
In just eighteen (18) pages this book covers a lot of history.  From the beginning to the end, you are presented with concise information regarding the mintage of Canadian coins.  Also, to provide the reader with a deeper perspective, major world events of the times are also highlighted.
When you open the first page you find that the text, illustrations, and pictures are continuous across both page 1 and page 2.  Every turn of a page presents you with the same double-page view as you progress through the book.  As the listing pictures show, the text is restricted to describing these events in short factual statements leaving approximately 3/4th of each “two-page spread” for multiple images of the coins and world events of that period.
Here's a bonus.  Usually missing, when you do find this book for sale, is the complete set of 1968 uncirculated Canadian coins that were included in the book at the time of purchase.  Those coins (.00 / {{detail_product_description}}.50 / {{detail_product_description}}.25 / {{detail_product_description}}.10 / {{detail_product_description}}.05 / {{detail_product_description}}.01) are with this book.  And those coins are still sealed and reside in their original “pouch” on the inside of the rear cover.  The coins alone are conservatively worth - if not more.
The outside hardcover “case” does show some very minor wear, the worst of which is a four (4) inch wear mark on the backside of the top edge.  The listing pictures can show you that better than I can describe it.
The book itself, also in hardcover, is in wonderful condition without a single crease, wrinkle, tear, or scratch to even talk about.  The book, except for the exposed binding, is still in its original white color, as I am sure the complete set was colored, before time and the environment got to work and added that special tint they prefer to give to colors.
The last page is a two-page fold-out.  The fold-out summarizes the history of Canadian Coin mintage from 1908 to 1968.  Also, on the rear of the fold-out is an explanation of each step it takes to mint a coin – from raw material to general circulation.
Overall, a nice hardcover book in wonderful condition, with its original hardcover case in pretty darn good condition as well.  And to find this book with the mint coins still sealed on the back cover, well that’s just rare.

Above is one of my favorite pictures. It was taken from my office window; the gray “V” shaped area is the shadow of Mt. Rainier, our local volcano. Oh yeah, about us.
