    Description

    This item is a ceramic or porcelain figure of a dog in the lying down position on a patch of greenery. It is a type of dog that is unknown to me, but perhaps looks a little like the Akita from Japan. Perhaps it is a breed I just don't recognize or perhaps the artist took some creative liberties. I don't know. It is an off white or grey with black spots. It has a short bushy tail, but otherwise appears to be short-haired. It has very tiny upright ears. It has a tapered muzzle, not at all like the pit bull family. So your guess is as good as mine.
    In any case it is a nice figure measuring about 5" long  x 2" high x 2 3/8" side to side. It is unmarked but I strongly suspect it is from Japan. I am sure it has some age on it. No chips or cracks that I can find, some wear to the glaze around the green edges.
