You are bidding on a collection of 12 Prestige Double Dollar Canadian Proof sets.  This lot includes the 1977 SWL set as well as the regular 1977 set.  It also includes the 1978 Square Jewel and Round Jewel sets.  The most prized coins in these sets are the special edition silver dollars which were available in sets beginning in 1973.  The silver dollars in these sets are made of 50% silver and contain .375 troy ounces of pure silver in each coin.  Here are the sets included in this lot:

1975 - Double Dollar Specimen Set - AKA Prestige Proof Set - with Special Edition Silver Dollar.
1976 - Double Dollar Specimen Set - AKA Prestige Proof Set - with Special Edition Silver Dollar.
1977 - Double Dollar Specimen Set - AKA Prestige Proof Set - with Special Edition Silver Dollar.
1977 SWL - Double Dollar Specimen Set - AKA Prestige Proof Set - with Special Edition Silver Dollar. Includes the SWL (short water line) nickel dollar.
1978 Square Jewel - Double Dollar Specimen Set - AKA Prestige Proof Set - with Special Edition Silver Dollar. Includes the Square Jewel 50 cent piece.

The Royal Canadian Mint did a poor job in making their cases between 1971 to 1973 because they used a type of velvet insert to house the coins.  Over the years the velvet begins to flake off into a fine dust.  Beginning in 1974 they changed their cases to a rigid plastic case that is excellent.
