    Description

Presented is a lovely 18th century Meissen porcelain serving dish. The dish is
white with beautifully hand painted flowers, in vibrant shades of pink, purple,
red, yellow, green and blue. The floral designs are very colorful and detailed,
obviously done with a great eye for detail and with considerable skill. The rim
of the dish has the remnants of a dark brown trim.
This piece is in great overall condition. There is some wear to the brown
border around the rim. There are a couple of minor chips to the footrim, which
are not noticeable with typical use/display. There are no breaks and no repairs.
The underside of the dish has the Meissen crossed swords mark in blue, as
well as a sticker from Chicago retailer Marshall Field & Company, dating
this piece circa 1790. We believe this piece to be slightly older, circa
    1750-1770.
The dish measures about 10 by 7 by 1 3/4 inches, LxWxH.
    Weight: 14 oz (396.9 grams)
