If there is no grade mark on the nut (like OEM MTD nuts sold by competitor) , by default, it is considered a Grade 2 nut, much weaker than our products.
Our hardware is Grade 8 (typically much stronger than ungraded OEM nuts). Grade 8 nuts are marked with two lines at 60 degrees on the flange as shown in photo # 4.  The competitors photos and listings don't
show any markings or information that indicates strength or finish.  Our 5/8" spindle nut is
equivalent
in size but much stronger than ungraded OEM hardware used by most outdoor power equipment vendors.  This nut can be used on blade or pulley side of the spindle.
Make sure you need a
5/8" x 18
nut for your application. Check your owner's manual or the equipment vendor's website to confirm hardware size requirements for your model number.
