Description
Rare, vintage collectible piece of the aviation industry x 3!These certificates are in excellent condition, have been punch cancelled - and were printed by the legendary American Bank Note Company. These are absolutely authentic, NOT a reproduction. As many of you already know, paper stock and bond certificates have nearly completely gone away in favor of electronic 'book-entry' share ownership. Physical certificates have become very collectible, and an important part of Wall Street history. Unlike collectibles such as sports cards, stamps, coins, etc. where millions are still being produced each year, the available supply of stock certificates is now nearly finite.
History:
United traces its roots to Varney Air Lines
(VAL), which Walter Varney
founded in 1926 in Boise, Idaho. Continental Airlines
is the successor to Speed Lines, which Varney had founded by 1932 and whose name changed to Varney Speed Lines in 1934. VAL flew the first privately contracted air mail
flight in the U.S. on April 6, 1926.
