1949 Hawaii License Plate W 9455 Honolulu Pre-State Hood Highest Known? Original

Description

Up for sale is a 1949 Hawaii license plate. This plate features a yellow on black coloring, the number W 9455. The W prefix and the serial number designates this plate as being originally registered on Honolulu. According to the ALPCA archives, this is the highest number known for this year.
Condition:
The plate is in 100% original condition, with no touch ups or restoration. It is in great vintage condition, showing little wear and character from use and storage over the years. It does have a little bit of flaking on the embossed lettering (see photos). This plate is quite glossy so it was hard to get good photos without a glare. We've added a few different angles of the same areas to help show its condition.
