Description
10 Cents Military Payment MPC 2nd Printing 472 w Incorrect written 31 May End DateSeries 472 (1st Printing) was first issued March 22, 1948 (2nd Printing, obviously, later) and was to expire on June 20, 1951 for US Military Personnel use in Austria, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Japan (the Ryukyus), South Korea, Morocco, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Scotland, Trieste and Yugoslavia.
But this note has the handwritten inscription that says ' this money was discontinued May 31st' which could have been written by a non-Military during the period, by someone not knowledgeable, for an expiration of a later date in a different country of the 17 or so listed above or for some Military personnel in the field and not near an exchange area etc - who knows?

For the most part we use Pick or 'P' numbers to describe most banknotes. Technically, Albert Pick's works are now called 'Standard Catalog of World Paper Money' and are in 3 volumes (Volume 1 are notes before 1960, Volume 2 are issues after 1960, and Volume 3 are Specialized items). Occasionally, where there is a more detailed reference required, we may call attention to a different catalog, such as; TBB (The Banknote Book), Charleton for Canadian material, Smith & Matravers or Beyer for China, Schwan-Boling for WW2 Military items etc.
MATERIAL USED; We want to help save the planet - So whenever possible we re-use paper, envelopes, packing supplies etc. We re-use as much material as available, meaning (for example) banknote holders and/or coin flips etc may show signs of a previous label or writing etc.
SHIPPING; We usually mail all material within a couple of days of payment using the approved ebay system, with tracking, in, if possible a reused outer. US Mail takes 4 -12 days. Whenever possible especially if you let us know, we will of course combine shipping, to give you the best shipping price possible. Our mailing fee is for most items / Buyer is responsible for all State Sales taxes.
A personal comment about shipping; If a seller is charging , or more for mailing an item or several, costing or less, you may want to ask them - why? As they can generate an eBay mailing label for about with tracking that takes just a few
days to arrive (according to eBay).
If you have questions, please ask.
